Hello everyone!
Let me introduce myself-I'm les20makeup. My weight tends to go up and down on the scale my whole life. I am inactive for medical reasons. The only thing I can do is take steps, literally when I'm home & if and when I go outside. I am a chronic asthmatic with one lung and am pretty much homebound due to the allergens on the outside. It's not often that I leave my home but when I do, I try to enjoy every minute. My medicine raises my weight as I'm on prednisone six months out of the year. I just want to feel less bloated and more energetic.
I have a great positive spirit and my husband is the same way. He only has to watch his cholesterol and get his stomach down a bit. I am the cook in the house so I feel I must make better choices and think twice about portion control. This holiday weekend was a crazy time to start tracking my food but at least I started. Being accountable for every little item I choose to eat is cumbersome but necessary as I obviously tend to go off the charts and the weight started to creep on.
I hope to succeed and will send positive vibes to those who are on the same journey as I. Good luck everyone.

Its June 7th and I've been logging in daily so today is the 11th day in a row I've been accountable. At first I logged my weight after I ate a breakfast. The scale read 183 lbs. I was recommended to weigh myself prior to breakfast and so after a week, I've been doing just that. Today the scale read 175.5 lbs. I'm just happy I am truly under 180. My realistic goal is to get down to 150. I want to be in a healthier range for my height (5'7") and frame (medium-large). It's my second attempt in trying to reach this goal. In 2013, I first started tracking my weight and I went from 226 down to 163. I was over the moon. I stopped tracking my weight and hadn't weighed myself each week. In three years, I gained 20 lbs. I am a foodie. I have a habit of grazing if I'm stressed. My best friend of 35 years passed away in 2015 after a year (2014-2015) of suddenly having bad health and horrible surgeries that made her weaker. Needless to say, I was devastated. I'm trying to bounce back from such a shock. It's been an "emotional" eating year. I miss her so much but I must move forward to maintain my health. Her passing has been a down fall for me in keeping regimented and tracking as I didn't have focus. The fact I'm usually on steroids for 6 months out of the year. (cruel but true and always in the warmer months: Spring/April to Indian Summer/September) This is the first year I was on them for only two months (April and May). I've been feeling ok and don't want to take them if I don't NEED them. I've been on other meds for my asthma and so far so good. I'm putting my energy and passion on staying on track.
My cholesterol was on the rise, I last checked it in April and it was elevated reading 214 and my goal is to try and get that number under 200, a healthier range. I'm going to try doing this without having another medicine prescribed to me.
Purchasing a pedometer and wearing it daily makes me aware of how many steps I take daily. This number will change daily.
I'm vowing to stay true to myself until I succeed and then will worry about maintaining where I want to remain.
Hope everyone is having a great day and enjoying the process toward meeting their goals.
