Hey everyone....so I am completely confused by this negative adjustments that is done to your exercise by Garmin/MFP. I don't understand exactly what it is doing. Can anyone give me an explanation as to why it does that. I clicked the box for it to enable negative adjustments I just don't understand exactly what it is calculating.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 15 and I never understood it either... so I disabled the function and now I'm happy! Still clueless, but happy! I shall watch this thread with interest to see if someone can explain it in "small words"! :)

Basically MFP will use the data it gets from Garmin to determine how active you have been. If you've been more active you get a positive adjustment i.e. +100 calories, if you've been less active you get a negative adjustment i.e. -100 calories.

Why not just set you activity level to the lowest and let Garmin log your steps and activity? That's what I'm doing and it works well. It doesn't double dip steps from activities and steps outside of activities. MFP isn't helping out at all with the negative thing in my mind.
