New to the gym

I just got a YMCA membership today. I'm making a goal to run at least 3 miles on the elliptical, use the stair stepper, but from there I'm not sure what to do. I used the weight equipment, but I was clueless on what I should do. I'm wanting a flatter stomach, to lose my love handles, shrink my inner thighs, and strengthen my arms. Overall I want to look more toned. Any advise?

I love this chick. I'm new to the weight room. I'll watch her daily workout video and then print out the pictures. Pictures help me. You can find a lot of great workouts on Pinterest.0 -
Whats you goal? weight loss? how much? Long story short. calorie deficit, and increase your muscle mass. more muscle burns more calories. You're not going to get all manly by lifting weights. But more muscle will change your body composition. have fun1

Read the sticky post in the fitness forum. If you follow NROL4W, you can't go wrong.. unlike Pinterest workouts.
As far as the extra body fat, that can't be targeted. Google "spot reduction myth" for more on that.1 -
Try starting with a treadmill. Three miles on an elliptical for beginners seems very harsh with the HIIT Bursting.0

ask for a weight machine orientation. I think that's what it's called. Someone will ask you about your goals, show you how to use the machines, and set you up with a program at your level. There's no charge and you can ask for one at any time. Don't do just cardio; add resistance/weight training.0

There's no such thing as "toned". And you can only increase muscle mass by eating at a calorie surplus.0
