Hey motivation... I've lost you!

I'm really not looking specifically for advice, more just venting as it feels good to write it down and be accountable. I started on MFP at the beginning of the year and have since lost about 35 pounds. However, within the last 1.5- 2 months my heart just hasn't been in it. I was SO motivated but then I just lost it. I know it's a combination of meeting a great guy, getting dumped, going out on several crappy dates, not being 100% happy with my job and eating out/drinking too much with friends. It's just hard to understand how I was SO committed and how I get myself back to that place. I'm still shrinking...but not the way I was and not in the pounds department. In fact, I'm up 3 pounds this morning. I know it's likely water weight but it was a wake up call. I need my groove back and I'm the only one who can find it. Hey groove....WHERE ARE YOU????

    I can empathize with you. I always start out really motivated and now that I have lost 46 pounds, I am starting to feel the same relationship with food that I had before - Love. I sometimes eat because I like something even if I am not hungry. I just have to catch it early, try to adjust my mindset and keep moving forward. This long weekend was not a great one in that department, so today I have started over and keep telling myself the old adage - Nothing tastes as good as thin feels...I assume it feels good as I have never been thin and would like to find out. :)

    It's very good advice about catching it early; I need to work on that. Last night I went out and ate ribs for NO REASON other than I wanted them. I wasn't even very hungry although I convinced myself I was. And... I'd also love to know what thin/healthy feels like. I guess that's why we're here. Thank you for the reply.
