Is all fiber the same. I know there's soluble and insoluble fiber but is it the same from all sources. For example my oatmeal I eat for breakfast has 8 grams of fiber and my Dempster's bread I have my sandwich with at lunch has 7 grams so would the fiber be of the same quality. I hear oatmeal lowered cholesterol is it because of the fiber.

Would 8 grams of fiber from oatmeal, bread, beans, veggies all act the same I think I'm asking lol.

Thanks

Oatmeal has both soluble & insoluble fiber. Each type of fiber has it's own health benefits.

This article has a list of foods & the different types of fiber each contains.
