How much kale in one bunch?

Does anyone know how many cups of kale are in the average bunch that comes at the grocery store? The bunch that just has the rubber band or tie thingie around the bottom of the stems? This is the large-leafed green curly kale. Does one cup of kale mean de-stemmed kale, or do you measure with the stems? I always de-stem my kale, for every application. Thanks in advance.

    A. Use a food scale to weigh in grams vs cups
    B. Don't weigh the parts you don't eat (stems)

Thanks- I agree these are the best methods. I was just wondering if anyone had done the math, and I don't have a food scale.

I'd recommend picking up a food scale. Amazon has a lot for under 15.

I don't eat fresh kale much, but the bunch I picked up from Kroger recently had a little under 200 grams. I did eat the stem though.

Thank you! This actually squares with my guesstimates.

The bunches will likely vary a good deal. You should measure whatever you are going to eat. If you will discard the stems then don't measure them.
