Macros problem - sugar

So I'm just dealing with the standard MFP macros pre set. However I keep going over my sugar because of the fruit I eat and its sucks, what are less sugary fruits I could eat to compensate for this or should I just ignore it???

Berries have less sugar than other fruits. Think blueberries, strawberries, blackberries. Vegetable also have less sugar than fruits.

Ignore it. There is a guideline to limit the amount of added sugar. MFP takes this and turns it into a total amount of sugar by assuming a certain amount is added. If you are getting most of your sugar from fruits, and reaching your other macro and vitamin/mineral goal with your diet, there is no reason to worry.

I personally stopped tracking sugar and added fiber to my tracked nutrients instead.

Recommendations are for added sugar. But added sugar is chemically identical to sugar in food. So ignore unless your (real) doctor has told you otherwise. Just try to have a varied diet and hit your protein and fat goals (these should be regarded as minimums).

Like the other posters said, ignore unless you have issues with sugar (such as diabetes) and that you're not adding sugar to your diet. As long as you stay under your caloric intake, it shouldn't be a problem. I tend to not eat much fruit and get most of my nutrient requirements from lots of vegetables. Doing it that way also keeps the calorie count lower. I only have one serving of fruit a day (most of those being dried cranberries, blueberries and the like) and about 5 servings of vegetables of all kinds. I love vegetables though, much more than fruit. I guess I'm just wierd like that.

Thank you all! I'm definitely trying to hit my other goals so I didn't want to be worrying about that at the same time, I mainly stick to berries but I do like my bananas. I do love my veggies too so I'm just making sure to get a balance between it all

I never eat more than one or two servings of fruit a day, to keep my sugar consumption low. Unfermented dairy is another source of sugar.

You can change your settings to track fiber in place of sugar.

sugar from fruit at least has fiber and if that fiber is higher it will balance out

That's not how it works. Fiber slows absorption and thus lowers the glycemic load but it doesn't "balance out" the calories in sugar.

Yeah I find it hard sometimes to limit myself with it because I love fruit so much! I don't have dairy at all so I know it's not coming from there
