Can someone help me figure out when to stop?

Hi folks!
I'm Kat, 18 and trying to lose weight. I'm somewhere between 5'11" and 6' and currently weigh 204 lbs (start 215). I had set my goal weight at about 160, but then I googled it and it said that at my height 174 would be a better weight.
I just want someone to confirm if either of these are correct? I'm kind of clueless and would like my calories to reflect the long term goal so I need to set my goal weight correctly.

You're going to have a healthy BMI between 140 and 170 I believe. This might be a good discussion for your doctor.

I agree with setting small goals as suggested above. In my case, my "final" goal weight is currently set here at 19 pounds over the top healthy BMI weight for me. The reason is because those last 20-30 plus pounds are going to go slooooow. I'm going to get to the top of the healthy range eventually and decide when to stop. I'll know it when I see it. The number will be less important if I'm in a truly healthy weight range for myself.

A goal weight isn't as important as making a goal like how you want to feel, what you want your energy level to be, being physically more comfortable and confident in your skin. As you build more muscle and lose fat, it's impossible to say what weight you'll feel and be your healthiest, so start small and work towards long term goals slowly without putting so much emphasis on the end point! Good luck!
