Different strokes for different folks. You may get numerous anecdotal responses to your question.

I have been doing IF for more than half a year now and I love it. I am NOT doing it for the purpose of weight loss at all (I have been in maintenance since Aug last year). The original motivation was I got tired of planning and preparing 3-5 meals a day. I am still enjoying IF because the truth is I love eating two gigantic meals a day. It's so cool to see a spread of food in front of me.

IF is probably the greatest thing that ever happened to me. It's awesome sauce!

I don't think that's necessarily true- I find that the day after a fast day I'm satisfied by a smaller meal and don't feel the urge to overeat.

It works for me because I find it easier to stick to dieting 2 days a week instead of 7.

I would say the same about 5:2.

Not much into restricting my eating times everyday and have trouble longterm with motivation if I have a cal deficit everyday.

I do watch my cals on all days. Stay around 500 on my two fast days and around 1800-1900 on most feed days. Works for me, because the days and meals on fast days are very flexible. But just as everything else - it's a way of life, not a diet. 9kg in 10 weeks as a nice side effect.
