    I just started running 2 weeks ago. And, I have 30 pounds to lose. I'm up to 3.5 miles - and want to work on improving my speed before adding distance. Especially since it's hot outside - want to finish sooner. You can add me if you like.

    I am trying to keep up some of my running through the summer. I usually quit because it gets so hot and humid here, but wondering if I can acclimate a bit.

    Just a suggestion for others, it is generally better to work on your aerobic conditioning and distance before trying to increase speed. No more than 10% increase per week.

    DancingMooie - I'm sure I am in minority but I kind of like running in the heat. Seems that I stop running in the winter and need to relearn how to run as it gets hot!

    I am also a runner. I mean, if you see me from a long way off, at night, while squinting, it really does look like I'm running.
