Hi, I am relatively new to all this calorie and macros counting and I struggle a little with the balance between my macros. Right now I am planning my supper and although I am ok for calories I have too much fat and not enough protein... i am looking for somethong I could snack on that is hogh in protein but low in fat? I tried seeds but they blow my fat and calories through the roof...
The only thing that comes to mind is merengue but then all this sugar...
Any helpful tips?

I don't have any problems meeting my macro goals eating ordinary food. What are your macros set to, and why? How would you describe your diet - are you vegetarian? Any allergies? Religious, or just picky :p ?

If you are new to calorie counting, why not get used to that first and see how it goes. I assume you have set a reasonable weekly goal, suitable for the amount you want to lose. Log accurately and diligently, weighing everything and using correct entries. If you start to struggle, then it's time to look at diet composition.

Yes seeds are high in fat, but they're healthy fats that are very good for you. Maybe cut out other high fat foods so your fat intake isn't as high if you eat the seeds then you get your protein too.

I've been hooked on Optimim nutrition whey protein (the extreme milk chocolate is insanely good). It has 120cals, 2g sugar, 1.5g fat and 25g protein per serving. You can drink it like a shake or use it to bake with. Try making brownies with it for a high protein snack.

Greek yogurt (I think they have low fat)
Lean cuts of deli meat (if you're not too concerned about sodium)
Prep some chicken breasts seasoned with Mrs. Dash, cut them up and snack on a few pieces
    Hard boiled eggs

Definitely beef jerky. Even Sasquatch likes that.

Thank you all for replying. I like the idea of lean deli meats or having cooked chicken handy ☺
I may be overwhelmed with what is the actual nutritional value of my usual foods and snacks.
I am not vegetarian and my macros are set for 50/20/30 % carbs/protein/fats. And if i try to keep carbs under control and get enough protein my fats go to 40 or even 45 percent...

I use individual cottage cheese packs and string cheese. Hard boiled eggs are also good.

Balance can be achieved in a number of ways. Nutrition is about getting enough of everything, but not too much of anything. "Appropriate" is a wide range. Good, natural protein often comes with good, natural fat. Do not fear good, natural fat. In reasonable amounts, it's good for you, and your diet naturally tends towards it. Up to 50% fat is still "moderate fat". Carbs isn't the enemy, either. But aim to get a lot of it from "natural" sources - fruit, vegetables, whole grains, starchy vegetables. Get enough protein - at least 0.6 grams per pound of body weight at normal/goal weight. Then get enough fat - this won't be a problem for you. And fill up with carbs.

This stuff is amazing and comes in lots of flavors. 0 fat, 12g protein, 80 calories.
