Daily calories

Hi I am just wondering what daily calories I should be working to. I am 5ft5 and 11st 3 I want to lose a stone. MFP is telling me 1200 but friends say this is not enough. Just not sure what daily target I should use. Amy advice please?

    1200 is the bare minimum MFP will set for a sedentary woman (I think the threshold is supposed to be 1500 for men). It works really well for some people and makes others want to gnaw their own arms off.

    Keep in mind that MFP expects you to log your exercise and will give you more calories to eat after you've worked out.

    Hi ya, I'm 5ft4.5" and on Slimfast but I have a 1300 cal daily goal and find I loose weight still, I'm not sure exactly wat calories u need, I think in your settings you can set it to loosing 0.5-1lb a week or 1-2lb per week so it depends which u selected x

    Advice would be don't choose 2lbs a week weight loss goal - that's very aggressive with only a stone to lose.

    I tried nutrisystem for 3 months but my sugar was still too high. I set for 1500 calories based on dr recommendation. Not losing ..can't keep fat low enough.
