do you weigh your baked potato before or after cooking?

thanks! they are so much heavier before cooking, but I wanted to make sure I was weighing them correctly. Do you weigh before or after baking/microwaving?

    Even more important than whether you weigh them before or after baking/microwaving is using a database entry that reflects whether you are weighing them before or after baking/microwaving. If you weigh before, find an entry for potatoes, raw, and if you weigh after, find an entry for potatoes, cooked, baked (flesh only or flesh and skin, depending on how you eat it). Then cross-check the entry you use with the USDA nutrient database (https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search) or the package label, if you're buying potatoes that come with a nutritional label. Or at least make sure you use an entry that has dozens of user confirmations.
