Everything I eat I see carbs.... I also feel like it so hard to determine what is good and not good for me. I understand whole foods and fruits..

Carbs are okay for most of us -- especially if we are reasonable about them.
I eat chic peas and lentils and they have carbs. Also dairy products and nuts have carbs.
What are you concerned about?2 -

Carbs can help you lose weight.
Beans, lentils, quinoa, barley, oatmeal, etc.1 -

Unless you have insulin resistance, PCOS or diabetes, they do not matter for weight loss. If this is a nutrition decision, you do you. If this is a self control issue, you do you. But, if you lack the health issues and you love food with carbs, you can and will lose weight including them if you stay within your caloric deficit.2 -

Yes, I was talking strictly weight loss without medical conditions since none were mentioned in the OP. Many believe that carbs are evil for weight loss.

Which is why I gave you an "awesome" vote.

It's true healthier carbs should have a place in our diets.i agree most foods do contain carbs why maybe because they make life taste better lol who knows. The trick is to get familiar with the types that your body benefits from the most. I think of carbs in this manner: to me they are like gasoline. Chances are that if you put 87 grade fuel in your car it will run if you were to use 93 grade it would also run. But it's more likely to run more efficiently with the higher quality stuff. Well that's the same scenario with our bodies. We could eat white enriched flour and still get by but the carbs in oatmeal, sweet potatoes would be a much better choice. To further simplify this if something is processed like canned stuff or a lot of restaurant foods chances are those are carbs you want to substitute.
I hope this information sheds some light on the subject I know what it's like because I struggled with that issue for the longest until I got a strength coach and learned how to manipulate foods to my benefit. Best wishes0 -

What really matters for weight loss - calories.
What really matters for health depends on your personal medical issues.
If you have no known nutrient deficiencies or other medical issues, eat within your calories, and keep a varied diet, you'll probably be fine. Maybe throw a multivitamin in as insurance but that's most likely unnecessary. If you do have medical issues, come up with a plan to address those.2 -

For nutritional purposes, sure.
Some of us derive pleasure from food as well. We can do primarily good and nutritious foods while having food that is pure indulgence in moderation. We can do that and lose weight, and enjoy significantly improved health.1
