Losing 1# a day!

I don't know what is going on! I'm 5'1 and I started at 119#s 6 days ago. I ate 1200 calories for 2 days and lost .2 #s both days. Then I increased to 1400 calories and ever since I am losing around a pound a day. I'm drinking lots of water. I'm so confused! I'm now 115.4. Is this normal? I am breastfeeding my 17 month old 3xs a day. My TDEE is 1360ish. I don't know what to do! Should I eat more calories?

If you're only eating 1200-1400 calories and breastfeeding, then you are likely undereating. Breastfeeding burns calories, I think they say around 300 a day when babies are young, and that probably wasn't counted in your TDEE. I did extending nursing with my daughter, and I want to say at 17 months and 3x a day, I allotted about 150 calories to account for breastfeeding. It's probably going to take some tweaking to find your sweet spot.1

Ok, I will add the 150. Yesterday she only nursed 2xs. Even with that though, you have to have a deficit of 3500 calories to lose a pound. Is this 4 pounds just water weight even though I'm drinking around 6-8 glasses a day? I'm just not understanding how I am losing so much so fast.0

Yes, the initial fast losses are water weight. Just be aware that, in a few weeks, you are likely to go through a period where you stop losing or even gain a little (usually 3-4 weeks after starting to lose buy YMMV). Get through that period, and your weight loss should be close to what weekly goal you are eating towards.
When first dieting, the body drops a lot of water, then goes "oops, I dropped too much" so it starts retaining more so that the levels are back to where they should be for optimum health. This initial cycle lasts 3-6 weeks for most people.0 -

Thank you!!! I'm trying to get my baseline so I will increase my calories to1600. How do I get my baseline if I keep losing water weight?0 -
I think it takes a few weeks to settle down but I'll also say that the amount of milk you have at any given moment also changes quickly and often. You are going to be confused quite often.0

Your tdee is not 1300 cals, especially if you're breadth feeding. Eat more0

I increased my cals to 1500 yesterday and today I weighed myself and I lost 2 more pounds since yesterday. If I add breastfeeding then my TDEE is 1500. I'm not exercising and I'm not peeing all the time. I though average sized women only lost a few pounds of water weight. I've tried losing weight in the past but this has never happened. I've usually only lost 1-2 pounds quick. I also have Hashimotos so usually I don't see the scale move other then the initial 1-2 pounds for a couple weeks.0
