Hey guys,
I started my journey in January to date I've lost 20 lbs... I've also lost a lot of inches as well...
I am 28 yrs old
5'3
SW:181
CW:161
I exercise 5-6 days a week - built up to this very slowly started in Feb.
I started lifting heavy about a month ago - since then I've lost 1.4 lbs... I weigh in once a week or every other week.
My routine is 10-20 minutes cardio -treadmill or step machine then about 30-45 min of lifting then another 10 min of cardio once or twice a week I will have only cardio days where I will do insanity, zumba, or some kind of class... I alternate body parts so I am not always working on the same areas.
My nutrition:
I aim for higher protein, lower carbs just because I feel they are the devil... I know the calorie count is the biggest factor but I mentally feel bad when I eat bread... My diary should be open so take a look and give Nice honest feed back...
I've done TDEE and it says that I should eat around 1800 cals... My goal is set for 1600 which is an improvment when I started I was at 1200 and realized that i needed more. I have my 1600 set as a goal but mainly I eat when I am hungry and just try to choose healthier snacks like fruit, popcorn, trail mix-1 serving size.... I weigh everything and track everything.
Sunday I started taking GNC vitapak AMP RIPPED... My experience so far is that this stuff is awesome, tons of energy!
Problem: It has taken me nearly 7 months to loose the 20 lbs... I am hoping to join the ROTC Army program this fall and really need to lose another 10 lbs sooner than later. I don't know what else to do...
How I feel about my nutrition:
Like I said I eat when I am hungry I am not in to fad diets or starving myself, I just am not understanding that if calorie in calorie out method is true... Why am I not dropping these stubborn pounds... I haven't seen below 161 in YEARS Could this be my problem? My body likes this weight? It seems that I cycle my cals more some days I eat 1800 others 1600 or 1500 and so on, because I eat when I am hungry I don't always eat the same amount each day... a lot of times a harder work out I 'll be more hungry the following day... Obviously I am still going to stick with my gym and healthy eating routine... I just want to see if there are any other suggestions I haven't thought of yet...
Many people are shocked when they find out how much I weigh... as in I am told I don't look it... so I carry it well lol I dunno... Any constructive critism/advice is very helpful and wanted....

If all your bloodwork is normal, sounds like an intake miscalculation.0

Went and had my labs done everything is in great ranges...
I have a scale, I use that plus measuring cups... I count out servings sizes...
I really don't think that I could be off that much...
I also have a HRM so I know I am getting good burns during my work outs usually 500-800 cals and I usually work out at least an hour 5-6 x a week...0 -
Looked at the diary and over the last month it's pretty wild. Some no log days, a lot of very low days. Maybe just try to be more consistent with meeting your target for a few weeks. Seems like you have a decent plan set up, but the main part (eating) is bouncing all over.0

The days I didn't log I was celebrating my 9 yr anniversary and went out of town for 5 days and took a break from logging, I've been logging faithfully since January and yes some days I am close to 1200 cals, I am a mom of 3 kids, work full time and in school full time... On my logging break I didn't gain anything and I still ate off the healthy menu choices and we walked 5-6 miles a day! I've actually lost my 1.4 lbs after that break...
I struggle with finding time for myself other than my work outs... Thats def. My TIME!!!)
I eat I log, when I shop I try to mentally prepare things ahead of time and usually pack my lunch and daily snacks... Some times I get subway only the sub 6' and I went to their website and built my own so I know exactly whats in it.. I also drink 80 oz to a gallon of water a day...0 -
