Still new on here - how do I add friends?!

Been on 7 days now and still can't quite get to grips with how to request a friendship!!!!

    I know it varies depending upon which platform you are on
    But click on the persons name ( for me it takes two clicks on their name to get to their profile) and once you've arrived at their page you will be given an option to add them as a friend.
    Click on that.
    Then it will give you an option to send a note along with your request. This is a good idea because people usually deny blank requests . A short note like " hi I'm anna and am looking for more friends" will do.
