Getting serious about becoming healthiest me!

Hi my name is Kathy, I am 47 and a nurse in Northern California. I have three children 16, 8 and 7 yrs old. I have been on almost every diet plan since I was 20 and always put the weight back on. Looking for accountability partners/friends this time so I won't be able to so easily hide my eating of junk food on the way home after stressful day at work. Few weeks ago I just started working out and my muscles are sore. My fitness pal is helping me learn how many calories I need to eat, so hard to resist those donuts and Diet Coke I used to shove in my mouth each morning. Please friend me if yu have time for accountability partner or could use one yourself :)

Hi Kathy - I hear you on the diet cokes and donuts. My weakness also. I gave up fast food about 6 months ago and started MFP about a month ago. Down 14 lbs. I too have been off and on diets since my 20s. If I had invested the $$ I spent on weight watchers, I would be retired by now!

I have two kids myself - both are in college, so it is a little easier to eat healthy. Not sure how to friend people, but count me in for accountability. This time it is ON!

37 now 5'4" and at my heaviest of 212. My husband is fit has a very demanding job and burns so many calories he can eat whatever he wants. I find it hard to praise him for how great he looks when I feel so bad. I need to change that, forever. I need to shed atleast 50 lbs so I can enjoy buying cloths again and feel good about myself. I love this app and after 10 days really enjoy tracking, it's so easy and so benifical.

I'm new here. Your post resonates with me. Count me in as an accountability buddy. I'm just figuring out this app.

I'm fairly new to MFP also. I've been tracking for a few weeks now and down 10 lbs. I'm looking for some people in a similar situation, I think it will make it a lot more fun. I'm not sure how to friend people yet, but interested in getting a support team together. I'm turning 50 in September and I am serious about getting healthy.
