pool question

Kind of a silly question . I have very little upper body strength. I saw on line you can do pushups on the side of a pool. Unfortunately the only pool access... I have it a 3 foot pool at home so using the sides for support wont work . But i can reach the bottom and a regular style push up in the pool. Would that help strengthen my arms? I tried it yesterday and my arms are kind of sore today so i am assuming it will at least help a little ? Any other exercise ideas I can use in a smaller pool ?

google shallow water pool exercises (or something like that)...I see quite a few people at my local Y doing stuff in the shallow end. Here's something from for muscle development.

You can do these on the wall or on the kitchen counter.
Easier push ups.
Slightly harder workout.
Even harder
To add more resistance just move your feet further away from under your shoulders.1
