Not advocating the cleanse, but Elvis had about 30 pounds of feces in his impacted colon when he died. Perhaps the OP too, suffers from chronic constipation. :)
Then a gastroentrologist should be seen and not a sales person of cleanses.

You're not a motorcycle. No kickstarting required.

And if your liver and kidneys aren't doing the job, you need a hospital, not a 'cleanse.' :)

I am taking in a lot of water and eating fruits, veggies, and nuts.

I am as big as you, almost same weight, same height. I've been taking in and eating more water, fruits, veggies, and nuts for 10 days and only lost 4 lbs lmao. Maybe I didn't lose 20 lbs because I can't give up that pesky meat. Do you really think that will make you lose 20 lbs? lmao

While "cleanse" and "detox" is a sign that you've ingested much woo, you'll be better once you read and comprehend the links diannethegeek gave you. Welcome and enjoy healthy living.

I think you would be better of doing a colonic than a detox honestly lol.

Meh, the poster is just trying to ruffle feathers -- or sell something -- and disguise it as "ooooh what do YOU do for weight loss?"

A cleanse will just make you lose a lot of water weight and set you up for disappointment when all of it comes right back. There is nothing a cleanse does that your body doesn't do naturally on it's own without causing you all kinds of discomfort.

I like a good cleanse. That's why I eat a ton of veggies and then drink strong coffee in the morning.

I just detox cleansed with Dawn dish soap. It tasted awful, now my stomach feels yucky. And I haven't lost a pound. :/

Ah yes, the 'I Didn't Rinse Out My Go-Cup Well Enough' cleanse. I do it at least once a month! :poop emoji:

You don't need a "cleanse." You need to plug all of your info into the "goals" section of MFP, figure out a reasonable daily calorie limit that will put you in a calorie deficit, eat a variety of foods that fit within your daily limit, and start to exercise--even walking can improve your health. By burning more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. Good for you for wanting to get started--wishing you success and good health!

Well, I say whatever gets you in the right mindset for your lifestyle change is a great way to start. I started that way in January 2015, just had fruits and vegies and the slightest amount of low GI protein for a week. No sugar, No caffeine. It did help me kickstart my changes. Then I added in meats and other things back in but stayed at a deficit. It worked. Best of luck to you in your journey! I wish you a ton of success :)

    now that's just mean. :/

No, no, not trying to be mean. Elvis did have a severely impacted colon; I was pointing out that people can have medical conditions that can, ere, back them up (in response to a post that the body can't do that). Criminy, I never want to be mean. Mean people suck.
