What effect does heat have on calorie burn?

I typically walk 2 - 5 miles per day; 2 miles to work and 2 miles back, then some extra stuff in between. I know what kind of calorie burn I'm getting from that walk, but I typically don't bother logging it because it's fairly minimal and I like having a slightly bigger deficit without realizing it.
However, where I live it's 100+ degrees Fahrenheit most of the year. Yesterday it got up to 115, for instance. When I walked to work this morning it was 102 at 7am. I'm wondering if the heat results in a significantly higher burn (no pun intended) than walking in a moderate climate, or if the difference is negligible?

Are you in Arizona? I would say the calorie would be negligible.0

Nothing...... Otherwise there would be no fat people in hot places....

Negligible. Heat just makes it harder for you to get the same calorie burn if anything.3
