I have been told to balance carbs with protein and again with protein & fats. 1 to 1 ratio. anyone know some details

    You weren't given any additional nutritional advice from the person who told you this?

    I'd recommend asking to see a dietician who can give you tailored advice, but in general it's to do with the glycemic load of your meals (the combinations change the rate, not just the components) and the rate of glucose release. I went from pre-diabetic to normal ranges by doing this.

    Yes you need to see a dietitian. When I had gestational diabetes I actually took a class and they told me how many carbs/fiber/protein I need per meal and snack. I'm prediabetic now and hoping to get my A1C back to normal by doing the diet I was taught previously. I hate when doctors tell you something so important and just give you medicine to "help" you. You can totally control diabetes with diet.
