                    Hi all-
On Valentine's Day of this year, I decided I wanted to be one of those people who get better with age - and for the first time ever, truly applied all of me to getting *fit.* I used to focus on losing weight - and then I finally realized, that's not working for me. So, I threw the scale away for a very long time, focused on teaching my kids to eat right, and realized I needed to be able to control my mind (when it comes to food) and I could then focus on controlling my body.... Suddenly I started to see the weight melt off!
Last week, my 5 year old looked up from a nutrition label and excitedly yelled - "there's no trans fat in here Mommy!" Needless to say I felt wonderful - but I also felt sheepish that this hasn't been part of my routine since my 12 year old daughter was born. My 8 year old son loves food to no end so getting him to consider health and nutrition with every snack and meal has been - and still is - quite the challenge.
In pondering all of this, it hit me that I never really utilized the community feature on MFP. This morning I realized that this site has so many wonderful tools - and people! - that I have not had the chance to appreciate. So, please friend me if any of my words hit a soft spot with you.
I'm really looking forward to meeting you all!
