Gratification On Losing Weight But My Skin Doesn't Agree

When I started this journey of changing my habits, I was focused on being and looking like the old me. After 90LBS down, pant size from 46 to 34, I swear the one thing I never considered for a second was my stomach skin would not look the same. Now I am seemingly faced with either having soft, sagging wrinkled skin in my stomach only, or an expensive $6-8k men's tummy tuck. It's such a whirlwind of emotion for me (and my wallet). Anyone else dealing with this?

There are a lot of posts about this. Give yourself a couple of years, and do some lifting. After that amount of time you'll know what you're left with.

You can message me if you want, I lost 172lbs ... so I feel you sir.

It does get easier with time, my fiance doesn't care either so that's all that really matters.

If you live in Toronto I have a doctor I would recommend and another I would tell you to stay away from! One told me it was $10,000 and just the front was required, the other doctor came in at $23,000 and that I had to do everything- his quote also only had 1 line on it. I asked him for a breakdown of the charges and he said "I don't even have that info" so yeah!!! just have to watch out.

Everyone says give it time, it really hasn't changed much over 4 years, it's just I am use to it now. I do lift and follow bulk and cutting cycles so when I fill out it's obviously less of an issue from a lose skin perspective but then I have no abs (the 2 ish you can see at the top only when slim) I'd say I got lucky on my chest and it looks fine, even the doctors said so.

Anyways message or friend me if you want sir I'll gladly talk to you about whatever.

I certainly understand the sagging, soft stomach skin issue. I've got it too after losing 69 lbs with about 49 more to go. I'm just going to deal with it at my age (64). If I was younger I may be thinking differently though. Now that I think about it I'm not even losing weight to look better. I'm only losing weight to get rid of some health issues (already got rid of one) and keep other health problems at bay. If I would have had better sense when I was younger I probably would have fared better over the years, but it is what it is and I don't think it's too late even at my age. Congratulations on your success.

Yep. loose skin everywhere. The doc told me it would tighten up over 2 years; however, that proved false. And all I lost was 40 lb. *shakes head* all I know to do is dress strategically.

This. All my reading has said that it takes 2 or so years for your skin to contract as much as it will. Keep lifting weights and see how things progress. After a couple of years see where you are and how you want to progress.

I've been at this thing for 3+ years but I'd say the last 20LBS has started to show my new issue. It's not as noticeable as much unless the start to bend over just a little. Anyways, it was just nothing I ever considered until seeing it. Thankfully I don't think I'll lose much more than 10 more so I guess I'll know where things stand soon enough. I appreciate everyone's input. Best of luck to everyone in their journey!
