Weight loss per week

Hi there. I'm just starting to use MFP, when I put in I want to lose 2lb per week it keeps just saying 1lb per week, 1200 calories per day. Is there a reason for this. Also when I start losing weight will it automatically reduce my calorie count? TIA

1200 calories is the default minimum. Barring some glitch in the system your calories won't go any lower.
I'm guessing you are close to goal and a 1,000 calorie daily deficit isn't really a healthy option for you.
Pound per week goals
75+ lbs set to lose 2 lb range
Between 40 - 75 lbs set to lose 1.5 lb range
Between 25-40 lbs set to lose 1 lb range
Between 15-25 lbs set to lose 1 -.50 lb range
Less than 15 lbs set to lose 0.5 lbs range

It is generally not safe to go below 1200 and that is the lowest MFP will set for you. You should be able to lose at that level, but it will be slow. If you are already at 1200 it is because you don't have a lot to lose.
Be patient, slow is a safe rate of loss for you.1 -

Yes, MFP will automatically adjust your caloric deficit if you update your current weight. The lower in weight you go, the lower your deficit will be.1 -
If you tell us your current weight and your goal weight we can give a better answer0

No. If she's been given 1200 calories it will never go lower than that.0
