    Hi meaniemeakin,

I'm not sure if you are asking for a bit of advice on getting started with calorie awareness or not?

If you are then my suggestion would be to start off simply by logging absolutely everything and starting to pay attention to the macro/micro breakdowns of your diet. It should help you to build a more informed picture of what you are really putting into your body with each meal/snack and also overall.

You might end up finding that you are naturally nailing everything anyway!

Once you know exactly what you are putting in then you can make informed decisions on what to both add/remove/reduce/replace based on the dietary approach you have decided to take.

You'll find hundreds of people here alone willing to offer you advice, there will be a plethora of different views and it is a good idea to bear in mind that there is no absolute right or wrong way to approach this journey. The advice though, can point you in the right directions to do further research on that subject :)

I'm guessing that you're saying that you are just now educating yourself on the calorie in calorie out premise of weight loss and fitness. Food, eating and diet is the most important part of building your body into the body you want. Weight loss = more calories burned than you take in. Muscle gain = more calories ingested to facilitate muscle growth (less important the more overweight you are). Macros become important when you're trying to shape your body (protein = muscle or fat if not utilized). Find out what you're trying to achieve in your fitness journey and read up about it and ask tons of questions.
