new to MFP and confused...

hello! I'm confused on all the different calories for plain oil chicken breast. what is the best thing to go by...generic?

    How is it prepared? Are you measuring it raw before cooking? Boneless, skinless? All these things make a difference. You can get as specific about it as you want. The more information you give MFP, the more you'll get out of calorie counting. Measuring is uber important as we tend to have skewed views of portion sizes when we first start. Kudos on joining MFP! It's such a great tool!

    I would count the chicken breast and the oil to cook in separately. For foods you make quite often, you can set up a recipe in MFP's food tab. This is great for things like muffins that I make from scratch. I log all the ingredients, tell MFP how many of something I get out of it, and it does the calculations for me.
