Hi there, I'm very new to this so apologise if this has been covered lots of times already. I'm a 42 year old lady who since September last year has put on 2 am a half stone since my motability vehicle was taken back due to changing to pup. Subsequently I have been stuck indoors more an as such eaten lots of junk and due to such poor mobility haven't been able to walk it off. Unbelievably having the car meant I walked further as I went places. I'm so unhappy with my shape an have started using this app to mainly make me aware of how much crap I actual shove in my mouth an to be honest I'm surprised I've not gained more weight. I've checked local swimming pools but need steeps to walk down like on holiday rather than climbing the ladder. Is there anyone else in the same situation and if so did u find that making yourself awRe of the food choices and amounts of food u eat was enough to lose weight or did u do something else as well? Thanking you all in advance Becca xxx

I'm a couple of years younger than you, but I am also disabled and housebound, not physically, but mentally, but not in the normal term, just that part of my brain was damaged by a virus, to function normally, I could go in for an operation to remove the damaged part of the brain, but the success rate was something like 33%, eventually we decided that it was not worth the risk because if it didn't work, I would be completely disabled and unable to do anything by myself
although prior to becoming ill, I wasn't exactly in the best of health, when I became ill, the lbs just piled on, but since getting a fitbit, they slowly started to come off, but now that I am in challenges etc and using MFP to track my calories, the LBS are coming off quicker etc
by jogging in place whilst watching tv, using the exercise bike and setting a target on the MFP app to lose weight, the lbs have slowly started to come off
just make sure you set yourself a realistic target and to log everything1 -

hi theres plenty of info on here about a healthier diet.. i wasnt able to exercise or walk for a long time and gained a few stone but i was eating take out mainly because i couldnt stand to cook. soon as i changed to healthy foods (i.e wholewheat rice pasta bread, sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes.. one portion of fruit a day like berries because theyre lower in sugars.. small portion of dairy.. no sauces or coffee, alcohol snakcs sweeets fizzy drinks.) just logging food on here watching my cals i lost 50lbs with no exercise.

Thank you everyone for your advise. I've had problems eating solid foods due to part of my gut being paralysed but looking back my calories have all been used on rubbish. Soft crisps, large tubs of yoghurt, cakes, biscuits dissolved in coffee and magnum icecreams...... Why am I surprised I've put this weight on??? God this had been a real eye opener to what I actually eat an what I think I eat....in all honesty in surprised it's not more weight. I intend to take note an shift this weight0

Greek yogurt is the best also I think smoothies are really good if you can't eat solid food1 -
