Someone tell me what's up...I need motivation

Ok, so I got active on MFP on June 24th, the scale was going in the right direction until July 3rd (8-9 ilbs.)...then nothing....I've been tracking my calories, trying to stay between 1200 and 1400 and eating as clean as possible. I have gone over (1700 and 1500) twice, which I am not beating myself up about. But I really am trying to understand how all of this is working with losing weight, and even though the scale says I've lost 8 ilbs., it's not showing in my clothes. It seems like something more should be happening in terms of getting smaller. I have a lot to lose and just wondering when will there be some real results?!?!?!? Oh, and I do exercise 3-4 days a week (cardio and light resistance). Help!!!
