Some technical issues...

Over the last few months, I've experienced some technical issues with this app.
I'm asking if any of you experienced similar problems; please let me know, and I, too, will keep you updated with how this issue was addressed by the technical support team.

Is it just me, or does this app crash and freeze every time, and I mean every time, I try to add food, and especially when I change the amount in an already existing food while I'm in the search frame?
(Changing the amount when the food is already recorded does not have the same unfortunate result.)
I've used this app for several years, and I love it, but I'm seriously considering looking somewhere else, as this is happening now for several months.
My issues are:
1) When I press "add food," it takes about 20 seconds to change screen.
2) Once there, when I tap the search screen to type an item, the screen freezes for about one minute before it becomes functional.
3) Once I choose a food item from, let's say recent foods, and decide to change the last used amount, the screen freezes permanently, and the app crashes.
I'm using an iPhone 4s, an the free version of this application.
Please advise me on how to remedy all of these unacceptable problems.
