Advice wanted re Las Vegas in October
I am planning a trip to USA 24th October either Vegas for a week or Orlando for 10 nights. Hubby would prefer Orlando but daughter and I would like Vegas. What is the average temp in Vegas at that time and is it a good time to visit. I am tied to UK school holidays. Thanks

Ooooh thanks for asking we're going in
November!!!0 -
I was in Vegas in October last year, but I went early October. The Temp was mid to high 20's if I remember. Really nice, but not stifling. Very dry heat though.
I'd really recommend Vegas0 -
I used to go to Las Vegas a lot and personally think you don't need a full week there so, since you're coming from the UK, you should go there AND Orlando!
I don't think I've ever been there in Oct but just be thankful you're not coming during the summer.1 -
avg temps will be about the same for both Vegas and Orlando. IMO, Vegas is a good long weekend trip. Not somewhere you want to be for a week. If you go to Orlando you'll be within driving distance of a lot of nice beaches and beach towns. Have fun!0

Thanks for the advice, I have done Orlando a couple of times and was thinking of doing something different. I suppose we could do Orlando again as we all enjoy the rides then I can get him to take me to Vegas for 4 or 5 nights in May for our 25th wedding anniversary. Will have to sit and think about our options a bit more.0

I came over from Ireland, and to be honest, I could have stayed for 2 weeks.
The place just seems to have everything.
Pick a few good shows and trips and you'll fill a week easily.1 -
My vote is for Vegas...there are endless possibilities for things to do there..far more than just casinos..I used to go two times a year..for 2 weeks and for a month. All company paid for trips...I never got tired of it..and if you want to see California it's only 4 hours to LA0

10 nights is a lonnnnnng time for Vegas, unless you're going to drive to other sites near there. But the weather will be warm in the day, cool at night.
Why only those two options?1 -
I live in Vegas. Avg temps for Oct 24: high 75f, low 57f. Can easily have a couple days of high winds and have it drop to the 50s for highs though. Or a week of high pressure systems and it hits 85f+.

@_dracarys_ if we go to Vegas it would be 7 nights. Hubby wants to do Orlando again, we like white knuckle rides. I would like to go to Vegas as never been before. There are other places I would like to do but Vegas is top of the list.
@robotfood thanks for the info0 -
If you like "white knuckle" rides/experiences how about sky diving, driving a race car on a track, racing jet skis across Lake Meade, or going to the bottom of the Grand Canyon ?? All can be done in Vegas and much much more.. if you can dream it Vegas has it.0
