vitamins questions

Hey I have been wondering for an while now if I should put the vitamins I take or if that don't matter on this site. I do know fish oil dose raise you fat and calories count, But the last time I knew fish oil was good fat :/ so I have been stuck on this question for an while. So it would be cool if some one can help me one this.

If it has calories, it counts. I record everything that I consume.

If your supplements contain calories (fish oil, omega 3s, gummy multivitamins, certain multivitamins, protein powder, etc), log them. It doesn't matter if the vitamin contains "good fats"; there are some people who might consume 50+ calories in supplements a day (though it does not sound like much, if your daily deficit is only 250 calories, then not logging those supplements would reduce your calorie deficit by 20%). If you're closely watching micros, and your supplement contains certain micros that you are tracking (such as an iron supplement if you're closely watching your iron intake), then log it. If it's a random supplement that won't affect any of MFP's tracked macros/micros (for instance, my vitamin D supplement), then it's up to you whether you log it or not (logging it makes it easier for me to remember to take it, and then I can also go back and see what my general intake is should I need to modify the dosage/frequency of my supplement).

Thank you I do have to watch my iron to keep it up I just wanted to make sure if I should log them and if they would log. Thank you again :)

It's not that serious. I take gummy vitamins and about 3mg of fish oil daily. It's about 60 cals for the fish oil and 15 cals for the vitamins and I don't track them. If I'm not getting the results I want it's most likely because I ate too much elsewhere.

    Don't make things too complicating!

Haha ok. I do take a lot of vitamins and Herbs everydays And that would be an pain to log every day. I'm just going log my iron so I know how much I get a day. Thank you :)

Iron can be dangerous in large amounts, so it will be good to track it. Especially if your multi already has iron in it.

I agree about not over complicating things, but when you are on 1200 calories a day, an additional 75 calories a day can add up fast. Plus, logging reminds me to take my calcium supplement.
