I am 6'3" 278 pounds now. I am ok doing this amount of calories a day in 6 meals every three hours. I can go all the way up to 2000 based on exercise added calories by this app. Should I add more calories to my diet or stay with this daily goal

I do 1700 calories as well, but I'm 6'0. I'm guessing it's fine if you don't feel restricted tbh I wouldn't go any lower than 1600 tho

    I'm 5"8 and 147lbs, and I lose eating 1750 calories a day. I exercise a lot though.

So I dare say you could eat a lot more and still lose weight. Did mfp give you 1700 calories? Did you pick 2lbs a week loss?

Did mfp give you that number?

The aim for me has always been to eat as many calories as possible while still losing weight....

I'm 5'11 and my starting calories was 1700 at 250lbs, the pounds just fell off me the first month even with no excercize....but, I think a tall guy like yourself should be on nearer to 18-1900 to easily drop the pounds. Men need something like 2200 just to maintain they're weight remember

MFP gave me 2250 first on 1.5 pounds a week projection, which was thw maximum loss allowed by the app and because of my 7 lbs loss in 2 weeks increased it to 2950. I adjust it manually, but I feel fine. Now 1700 calories is before the app addscalories due to exercise

Too little...you should always recalculate your intake after 5- 10 lbs but never drop 500 calories below what you require to maintain. Doing so throws your body into shock and thus results will be harder to come by. If you lose weight slow<Max 2 lbs per week> its easier to keep off.

I'm 6'1, 215lb and do 1600 with a fast on Sunday for a cut. Works fine. At your size I wouldn't go lower than 1700.

I'm 219 lbs and 5'10 and I'm on 2680. Depending on how aggressively you want to lose weight, I wouldn't say that number is too low if you aren't feeling hungry throughout the day.
