Validity of micro-workouts?

Options
I'm pretty terrible at doing proper workouts regularly. However, I try to fit in what I call "micro-workouts" whenever possible. Maybe 5-10 squats or lunges, or a few reps with something heavy, usually at work when no ones looking. Are these doing anything for me? I might fit in 10 of these in aa day, but it's not like I feel sore in the morning.

It's movement, but doing a few reps here and there doesn't get your heart rate up, nor does it "pump" you up.

Depends I'd guess. Are you looking to build strength or lose weight?

For the first, I can anecdotally say I works, for the second not so much.
