i started dieting in the middle of may and lost 15 pounds in around about 6 weeks mainly from eating waaay to low calories and going to the gym, however of course my weight stalled (i now know about upping calories ect...) i am trying to eat 1200+ to get myself back on track and i still go to the gym (zumba or tone classes) at least 3 times a week. i want to know if the exercise helps at all, because its a pain having to eat those extra calories when i already feel like ive ate loads, thanks!

Exercise is critical to your overall health and well being...it is completely unnecessary for weight loss. Weight loss is a result of a calorie deficit.
Also, you don't have to stuff your face to up your calories. Most likely you've gone overboard in reducing your dietary fat intake...have a little fat...cook with a little olive oil (1 Tbsp is around 120 calories), have a handful of nuts (1 oz of nuts is around 150 calories), have some avocado, full fat dressing on your salad, etc.
If you are going to exercise, you need to learn to properly fuel that activity. Your workouts will benefit from proper fueling as well. Diet for weight control; exercise for fitness.0 -
