30lbs lost :)

so all my life I had been naturally petite and slim, could eat whatever I wanted, as much as I wanted, without gaining a pound if I tried. however, after being put on an atypical antipsychotic, which cause something called metabolic syndrome which results in weight gain, especially around the waist, among other things, I put on 30lbs in a very short time. on my 5'3 frame, those pounds made a huge difference and I was miserable in my skin. I hated the way my body looked in a way I never knew was possible. I was never very confident, but I'd never been THAT miserable about the way my body looked. so I joined a gym and started doing some classes, and in mid January I also started using this site to log my food and exercise. in those 5 months, by eating at a deficit while also tapering down my Seroquel dose, I managed to lose those 30 pounds. here's my before and after pic! left is me at 140lbs in January, right is me today at 110

Well done. Meds make it hard but you've got through this0

Great job! That must have been tough juggling your meds and weight loss- it's been tricky for me in the past. I had a med change altogether- but the weight doesn't magically disappear like it magically accumulates. Congrats on feeling feeling awesome- you look much happier!0
