Losing at Maintenance & TDEE Calories

I joined MFP when I got a fitness wearable that could sync up with it. I'm already at maintenance so I figured I could use it to watch my macros. But even in maintenance, I was losing very slowly.
Now that I have numbers to look at, I've noticed I've been netting average around 1500-1550 cals a day. I do eat back some exercise calories, but I tend to naturally stay around there. So I'm at a deficit daily. No wonder I haven't stopped losing!
I went back to a TDEE calculator and set my age and activity level but played around with weight. I finally matched my appetite's maintenance calories to a weight of around 97-99lbs (44-45kg). I'm at a height of about 5' 2.5" (158cm). Underweight for my height according to MFP Is 102lbs or lower (46.2kg). I also have a small frame, since I wear size 4 (US) children's shoes [4 AUS, 3 UK, 21.5 Japan] and have fallen into size XS shirts.
Thing is, I have been hearing BMI is wrong, and too forgiving for shorter people. So I'm wondering if its actually my healthy but low end weight.
Am I going to have health issues if I hover around 99lbs (45kg)? Is it really odd to have a lower appetite than normal? My only worry is having massive medical bills because my weight would be too low.

I mean, honestly, it really depends on your body type. I feel like that weight may be too low for your height but I don't know your body type. I think for a majority of people, that may be too light.
However, my step sister is my height (5'5) and weighs 105ish. She's a string bean. Just an extremely small bone structure. She looks "normal" I guess you can say. None of her bones stick out or anything. I wish I could post a picture of her but that's really creepy! Lol! I just think she's a strange anomaly.
I weigh 130 and look emaciated when I dip below that. It just really depends.
Be honest with yourself. You want to be healthy. If you feel that you have a super small bone structure, then it may be okay. But I think it's unlikely for the majority.

Instead of worrying about matching your weight to your appetite level (1500s), add in some calories with healthy fats to maintain your current weight. Nuts don't take a lot to add up to quite a few calories.0
