Getting started again after a long illness

I have been ill for a real long time (more than 5 years) and just recently started to feel better to a certain point enough to actually want to get up and move around without feeling exhausted all day. I am limited to certain amount of exercise time. I have to take medications to control the symptoms of the medical conditions I have and I know I am suppose to eat a certain amount of food however I never seem to reach the amount of calories required to eat up to. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to factor in the supplements that I have to take with the medication like for example like the potassium and B12 and vitamin D? I asked the doctor but I didn't really understand what she was saying.
