Doing a vlcd

Hi I'm donna. I am 36 years old and have struggled with my weight all of my life. I am a binge eater. I was trying to do slimming world but just keep binging. Constantly having to think of food. My husband is fussy so barely eats what I do hence having to cook two meals.
So I've decided to embark on billys diet vlcd. It's very restrictive which is what I need. My plan is to do this for 12 weeks and go from there.
In total I have 5-6 stone to lose. I've done a vlcd before and got to goal so I know I can do it again.
Also I'm giving up smoking yikes.

I can do this.

You got to your goal last time and then what happened?

VLCDs generally aren't sustainable. Losing weight and keeping it off is a marathon rather than a sprint!

If you aren't already, you should be doing the vlcd under the supervision of a doctor. 12 weeks is a long time on a vlcd and you need to ensure that your health isn't compromised due to lack of nutrition, vitamins and minerals.

Some would say "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

Perhaps you need to focus on why you slipped back - maintenance at goal weight is a skill that you don't practice by doing a VLCD.

Binging and restricting are often two sides of the vicious circle, maybe if you break the restriction part it will have an impact on the binging side?

Vlcd's outside of medically supervised diets, are not supported by the site. Since you already have a binge history this isn't going to help.

Discuss this with your doctor. Expect little support from a community focused on healthy weight loss.
