"Active"or"very active" settings? Massage therapist.

Just about to graduate and become a massage therapist, and wondering if I should change my settings from "active" (as a bartender) to "very active"? I do work up quite a sweat when massaging, it's probably comparable to easy level yoga... So imagine doing a 1 hr beginners yoga class 5-8x a day!

Doing a deep tissue massage 5-8 hours daily would be very active.

Sweat doesn't necessarily correlate to calorie burn. I would stick with active and only move up if your rate of loss ends up higher than intended.

I've been an RMT for 6 years, and do 6-7 deep treatments a day 4.5 days a week. You'll be surprised at how little you actually burn in this line of work. Don't get me wrong, especially as a fresh grad you'll probably find yourself needing a few extra cals to carry you through, but you'll level out fast. I'd keep it at active for now so as not to fall into the trap of overestimating your output. After all, I bet you're rushing around a lot more as a bartender than you will be when you're in treatments

Good luck and congrats! You've chosen an awesome career
