Ab belts

Do ab belts actually work? Sellers claim that ab belts contract your muscles, and because your muscles are contracted constantly, they will get stronger.

If you have a low enough bodyfatpercentage, will those belts help besides working out?

No, they don't work as stated. The best thing you can do for abs is work them, not let some contraption do the work for you.

The ones that cause muscle contractions might improve the condition of the muscles responsible for the six pack, but your abdominal muscles are much more complex than those muscles. The belts will not improve overall core stability or give you a six pack. You really need exercises that encourage the body to utilize all the abdominal muscles. Having bulky six pack muscles without the other supportive muscles in your core will leave you looking bulgy instead of lean.

You can go to the website in the pic to read the rest of the article.
I know mine has helped my back pain tremendously and now I don't have to use it as often.
Is it a pseudo fix? As long as my back isn't making it so I can't work then who cares

Absent medical issues or power lifting (and those are different 'belts') they do the opposite of what they are designed for as they stop you fully engaging your core and benefiting from whatever exercise / lift you are performing

there is a short-term benefit in dehydration through sweat - but that's temporary

support may be of use while you are building musculature in the case of back pain - but the cosmetic sold 'waist trainers' should be banned as a waste of time, the electrical stimulation style should be used judiciously under medical advisement and the leather weight lifting belts to aid in maximum lifts only
