Hi my name is Jamie. I've been a member a long time but never posted here an add me because I never felt the need. Now I am looking for members who fall in two categories to be my neighbors although happy to accept anyone.

For starters I have been in a wheelchair for 11 years but could move my legs and exercise midly and it didn't affect my weight too much. This January I became sick with something called GBS. It left me fully paralyzed and on a ventalator. The steroids and other meds they had me on plus getting more calories through liquid at the hospital than I was eating before did not help cause weight gain. Last year this time I was 115 and my last time being weighed was 143, and I know I put on more since then so I wrote 150 as I don't have a way to weight myself. I now have movement of the upper body although week and but still am paralyzed waist down. I never realized how much the movement in my legs helped when I was in the chair for the autoimmune and neuromuscular stuff. So looking for others paralyzed waist down to see how it affects their weight and for girls how not to look too heavy.

Secondly, I have been eating a lot more protein to keep muscle on my so I thought I already and the protein level I may try going Keto. This means upping the fat which I usually eat very low so that I can eat low carb. Not sure if low fat or low carb is better in my condition but low fat is not working. As I said I can not weigh myself but I will be using body measurements along the way to see in any diet is working

Lastly weening my calories back down to 1000-1200 which my doctors say is okay considering I don't move and meeting others to encourage each other, ask questions, and just vent when we need to :)

And with that long post I think you now know everything about me which is also on my wall lol. Once again happy to be friends with everyone. Still learning the social aspect of this site as for years I used it alone but I think right now I need that sense of community as I don't have anyone in my family to talk to as they are all heavy and won't listen
