I am currently trying to loose weight and get healthy so I can have another baby. I have one son now who is almost 4years old and I have been trying to get pregnant for the past two years . I realized earlier this year that my weight was probably causing my infertiltily so I am hoping that if I can get back down to at least 200 lbs I might get lucky with getting pregnant. currently I am at 244lbs and was wondering if anyone else is on a similar journey . Has anyone ever lost weight to help them get pregnant and how much did you lose before you got lucky with a baby. Any advice or personal stories would be helpful!

I've never been pregnant but that is the main reason I've started making this change. My husband and I have been talking about children but I want to do what I can to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. I had a friend who starting losing weight because her fertility specialist said it may help...she lost 21lbs and got pregnant with twins.

Hi Kherrons, thanks for the story about your friend, it gives me some hope that this plan might work for me. I am glad you decided to get healthier before you get pregnant because let me tell you , it is not fun carrying all that baby weight on top of your all ready big body and will almost ruin your chances of having a natural birth if that is your plan. at my heaviest with baby was 291 and it was hard walking around and very uncomfortable. I was forced to have a C-sections which was not part of my birth plan. Good luck on your journey!

I know that being overweight can lead to infertility. I myself was once 270 lbs and it took a little to get pg. After i had my daughter i lost 70lbs and then got pg again the first time with my current husband. I then lost 55 more pounds after i had my son then shockingly got pregnant this first time i forgot my birth control. I then miscarried and gained about 15 lbs since then due to constant eating from depression.i now have tried conceieving for 7 ms since i miscarried so i have hopes if i start dieting again the healthy eating will help me conceive

Thank you Amber for your story, I too have hopes that if I can loose 30 more pounds and be around 200lbs that I can get pregnant again. I am surprised that you got pregnant at 270lbs. that's amazing . I guess different bodies respond differently to pregnancy. I wish you the best of luck!

I have PCOS and they say that loosing as little as 10% of your body weight can help...
I'm not huge on doctors and what they say but I know if none the less I will be happy with my body in the end. And I know several friends who have gotten pregnant at a high weight the most being 310 so all bodies are vastly different! Good luck on your journey I am on the same path but don't forget you have had an amazing blessing (for lack of a better word) with one amazing child and some women may never have that! I know as little girls we had our dreams mine family with 4 babies in a farm house...bow I'm in the farm house hoping for one baby sometimes life takes us in other places and it will be all about how we handle plan B
Good luck and ill cross my fingers for u to have a healthy and wonderful baby soon! (Plus the 9 months teehee)

One of the reasons I am getting fit is to get pregnant too . It will be my first baby, so I want to be as healthy as I can. The healthier you are before pregnancy, the healthier you will be afterwards too and you will not have to loose as much weight. :)

    Hi ladies,
I am working on my weight in the hope of getting pregnant too. I have had four negative IVF cycles so feel like I need to control all that I can to get the baby I want.

Will be sending positive thoughts your way!

Thank you for sharing that with me Elena! I can't even explain how terrified I've always been the thought of having a child at this weight. Seriously, I'm a worst-case scenario girl and I am all for getting healthy to avoid any complications. I wish you the best of luck on your journey, and I will keep you in my thoughts for a future pregnancy :)

Hi. I don't know if I'll have problems getting pregnant,
but we won't stop using bc until I lose some weight.
We're talking about starting to try for #3 in 3-4 months.
I have bad back problems, and so my goal is to get as physically fit as possible in the next few months.

I am a mom of three :) You are wise to seek good health and fitness before pregnancy. It really makes a difference while carrying and in the recovery process. Best wishes!

I'm trying to lose some and just be more healthy in general. I've been trying for 2 years but nothing yet. Next step is fertility treatments but scared of the side effects.

The side effects are a bit crazy at first but like all things you get used to it and I keep telling myself that this baby if/when it comes will be truly wanted. No one has their partner stick needles in their stomach on a whim. This baby will know how much it was wanted and worked for and that has to be a good thing.
