I am not losing weight consistently like I used to.
I have lost 11 lbs. in 23 days, but I had lost 9 lbs. by day 5 so you know that was water weight.
I stick close to 1200 calories a day. If anything I don't make it past 1050.
I was eating a full size bag of jelly beans 6 days a week before I started this. I also probably ate 3000 calories of real food and junk. Yesterday I went over by 300 - 400 calories cuz it felt like it just didn't matter. Today I am once again eating healthy, but I just wish I could lose 2 lbs a week.

You've lost 11 pounds in less than a month. That's excellent progress.
Most people don't lose two pounds a week.3 -

This. And if you're set to 1200 calories (which you should be eating all of), it's unlikely you have a high enough deficit to be able to lose two pounds a week.2 -

1 pound a week is getting somewhere. .5 pounds a week is getting somewhere too.
Often it is easier to adjust our expectations to reality than change reality to fit our expectations.
If it isn't worth it to you to give up jelly beans if you're "only" going to lose 2-4 pounds a month, then I don't know what we can say to change that. But if your calorie goal is 1,200 with a goal of 2 pounds a week, it's likely that you don't weigh enough to safely and consistently lose that much per week.1 -
When your expectations are unrealistic you will always be disappointed. Might be time to change your mindset.6

Slow and steady wins this and it's what keeps it successful. Losing 11 pounds in 23 days is nothing to scoff at...even if some of that is water weight.0

This. My "getting somewhere" was losing (on average) one pound every 2 weeks.... but it "got me" from 268 lbs to 194 so far2 -
So... you're saying there's only two options. (1) Eat jelly beans all week and weigh more than you want to. Or (2) lose weight at a potentially unhealthy rate and never eat jelly beans.
What if we told you there was middle ground that was actually ok? Like, eat SOME jelly beans and lose at a rational rate of loss. So you'll actually get both things you want.
A year from now where would you rather be? At your current weight or higher? Or having lost 1lb per week? Time will pass in either case, you simply get to choose right now which result you want.3 -

I'm happy if I lose 1lb a week. So, I'm got getting anywhere? My 85lb loss tells me otherwise.
Slow down. You'll still 'get somewhere'.
Also, weigh all your solid and semi solids on a food scale (in grams), and choose accurate database entries that reflect the packaging information. Log all that you eat/taste, drink, cook with, and add to. Everything. No sneaking bites. Count liquid calories. Everything.
You don't have to give up anything to lose weight. I still eat candy, cookies, ice cream, etc...janejellyroll wrote: »

Touch. Ok I hear you all. Thanks for the reality check. I weigh 229 so I thought 2# was reasonable but changing my[exectations to fit reality hit me between the eyes so I guess it's true. I can't eat jelly beans.. I can't stop. No moderation with refined sugar1
