Hi. My name is Eboni. I am currently "obese" according to the BMI calculator. I wish to loose 30-40lbs solid. I also have a muscle disorder which limits me to NO lifting over 5lbs and very light walking. I just want to feel good about myself again. PLEASE HELP!

Hello Eboni. The good news is that you can lose weight with absolutely no exercise. Being active is great but having to limit activity does not need to limit weight loss.
Fill out your MFP profile, choosing sedentary as your activity level and 1 pound as your goal loss per week.
Get a digital kitchen scale to weigh all solids foods and measuring cups/spoons to measure all liquids. Log your food in MFP, being sure to use good database entries. If you have a food label in hand, look for an entry that matches it. If you don't have a food label, look for an entry that matches USDA info. An easy way to do that is to put "usda" in the search (e.g., "usda cherries raw") and then search the usda's online database to be sure the nutrition information matches. This sounds like a bit of a hassle but MFP "remembers" your frequently used food entries so after a couple of weeks you'Lloyd notice the app pulling up the entries that you have verified and used in the past.

Yup, weight loss is all about the calories you take in. I would also add, with your muscle disorder you probably are, or should be working with a physical therapist to continue no weight resistance and range of motion exercises to prevent atrophy and increase mobility chances. If you are not doing that, look into it. Plenty of laying and sitting body exercise you can do!3

Thank you! Yes I have physical therapy and a list of range of motions exercises. Some I do daily. I want to control my eating better1

I would recommend reading a few of these stickied threads. The first two are great and can get you into the basics of calorie count. Since you are limited in the amount of resistance, I would recommend increasing protein to help with muscle preservation (pending you don't have a restriction on that).1 -

Your focus is definitely going to be more on intake than exercise. So long as you can uphold a sense of self-control and dedication to a new food regiment, you should be good to go! Just know going in that it's going to be a very slow but steady process, but that doesn't mean your efforts are being wasted. You're worth it!0
