Stomach bloated day after ab workout?

So Uhm, I haven't done ab workouts in a while. And decided to start doing those again a few weeks ago. Yesterday I worked out my abs and now today my stomach is bloated. Is there a reason for this?

Muscles retain water to repair themselves after being worked, especially when it's new work. Sounds like a textbook case to me.2

There are about a zillion reasons your stomach could be bloated, from working the muscles the day before to what your ate recently to where you are in your cycle (if you're a female). Bloating will go away eventually. Just stick to your deficit relax.1
