Day 4, Level 1 complete! I still do the pushups on my knees but I started trying to do 1 or 2 on my toes. As for the burn... I looked up Tae Bo on the exercise database because I think that's closer to the calories I'm burning. Just a thought.

Anyone else's calves just so dang sore after doing this workout?? I did L1D1 yesterday and today I can barely move them! I think it was all the JJ's.

(and yes... I've stretched... I've got the heating pad on them now!)

Yep, my calves feel like they're splitting! But that's hopefully a good thing!

I'm still doing the girl pushups as well, but will try and do some proper ones today. Keep up the good work guys!

Hey guys! I would love to join this group! I started the shred about 2 months ago and got to day 13, unfortunately, I injured myself and was diagnosed with achilles tendonitis. This has luckily cleared fairly quickly! I have been doing the shred for the past two weeks, on and off (off usually at the weekends) but I'm ready to start all over again. :flowerforyou:

As I have progressed through all 3 levels, I will be changing the level's I do each day. Starting with level 3 today with 5lb weights. Since I started the shred, along with diet and ab training, I have lost several inches and many more pounds. I feel strong and many of my muscles appear to have toned up considerably :flowerforyou:

In my opinion, Level 2 is quite tricky...level 3 focuses upon cardio whilst using the weights, and although it's difficult, it is not as hard as the plank work in level 2. :ohwell:

One more thing, a few people I have spoken to, including physio's have suggested that the knee circles can be more damaging than beneficial to the knees...therefore I change these to neck circles...as with my ab work, I find that although I try to keep my neck neutral and relaxed, it very often tightens up.

    Good Luck everyone!

Was going to do Level 3, but fancied a change...so had a go at level 1! The cardio is harder in level 1 than level 3...seriously! I did the entire two sets of the side lunges with anterior lifts! Ouchie!

I'm going to a funeral today and didn't want to push myself too hard...but will do level 3 when I get home, or the steps fitness video...variety is the spice of life eh? :flowerforyou:

Have a lovely friday guys

I've been doing the 30 day shred for 6 days now in total - so thought I've give a bit of an update.

    Waist - I've lost 1/2 inch
    Hips - I've lost 1/2 inch

    Weight loss - 1.6lbs

So all in all not bad at all - especially as I have overeaten a few days this week.... fingers crossed the 30 day shred continues to deliver!

    How's everyone else doing?

I just finished my 3rd day of Lvel 1 this morning and my calves are tight, but it's my Thighs that are sore! I'm debating when I want to try Level 2. I still burn about 250 calories doing one so I'll probably hold off for a bit. Also still deciding if I want to try and do this everyday or mix in days of running. hrm.

Level 3 this morning after a few bevvies last night  Phew...that was tricky! Level 3 is a killer on the shoulders...ouchie ouchie! I don't find the level 3 cardio as hard as level 1..really, but I find I sweat so much more during level 3.

so tomorrow is day 5 for me...going to give level 2 a go tomorrow! Hoping to hit the 160's this week too, I'm .2 of a pound away! So I'm going to push myself extra hard! :flowerforyou:

Today was the first time I'd tried level 2 - wow, fat chance of me managing all the planks - and boy does it make me sweat.

    All good stuff though.

Level 2 today (Day 4)...the plank/cardio work is a killer although it hurts my knees more than my heart rate! I love being able to swap and change between each level as it keeps it interesting.

I would say, as soon as you can get through level 1 confidently...move onto level 2 and give it a go...if you find level 2 a little tricky, move back down. Make the DVD work for you.

I find that when you are doing the same level for days and days you begin to focus upon one muscle group and neglect another...although this may be a good thing, it's nice to feel all your muscles toning up.

Well done guys...you are all doing fantastically :flowerforyou:

Just finished D5L1. Still sweating like crazy. I would like to continue getting a great workout as long as possible from one level before moving on. I did Biggest Loser Boot camp for about a month, non-consecutive, before buying 30 Day Shred. I am definitely getting better on the pushups. My calves hurt once I actually started doing the jump rope instead of a jog. My thighs hurt but feel great when I take the stairs at work.

As far as my results so far, I lost 1/2 inch even when I gained a pound last week. I think it's the situps. Yay!

I completed Day 4 of Level 1 this morning. After the long holiday weekend, it was a challenge getting out of bed at 5:00 this morning to do this. But, boy am I glad I did!! I feel great!!!

I actually did L1 all weekend, which is the main thing keeping me from feeling too bad about how I ate on the 4th! :blushing: I usually take Mondays off from exercising but it didn't feel right since I didn't have to work.

What size weights do you guys use? I'll be honest, I'm cheap so I've been using water bottles but I'm thinking I should take it up a bit. Not sure what size I should look at.

    Let's go week 2!

I'm going to give level 2 a go this afternoon and then come home after shopping and do "the Steps" DVD for about 30mins. I hoping to lose 2-3lbs this week as i've weighed the past 2 days and have noticed a good drop. Actual weigh in day is friday for me.

I used to avoid level 2 and jump between level 1 and 3 but I thoroughly enjoyed it last night...so it's my chosen level again today.

I use 5lb weights and these really push me to the limit! Especially with the cardio/strength combinations in level 3! YIKES! I would start at 2-3lb weights and gradually increase them.:flowerforyou:

    HAPPY SHREDDING GUYS :flowerforyou:

I ended up not doing it today because my brother-in-law and niece were watching Nickelodeon all afternoon so I went running instead, lol. I'm definitely looking forward to getting back to it tomorrow! Don't get near as sweaty doing the dvd!

I completed day 5 of Level 1 this morning. I'm planning on switching my 3 lb weights for 5 lb ones tomorrow morning. I don't really feel the 'burn' with the 3 lb weights anymore (well...except when I get to the 3rd circuit....those anterior raises are a doozy!) :) I
I've lost .8 of a pound since Saturday. I am planning on taking my measurements Friday to see if I have lost anything there as well. My clothes sure feel like they are fitting better!! WOOHOO!!

I'll be doing Day 5 tonight, probably Level 1. My plan is to do 10 workouts at each level and then jump around to vary it.

For the person who asked about weights....I do 5 lbs. for most of the exercises, but 2-3 lbs. for the squat lifts and anterior raises. Once those are easy, I'll move to heavier weights. Just stick to whatever is challenging but not excruciating and work your way up!

So I was back today with Day 5 of Level 1. Running takes more, but man do I feel these workouts more! I was thinking after today I'd try going up to Level 2, but after how sweaty I still got I think I'm gonna wait a couple more days, lol. Still gotta buy some handweights.

Day 5 complete! I did Level 1, followed by Level 2 back-to-back but should have done them in reverse order because I definitely struggled more on Level 2. Afterward I did a Walk Away the Pounds workout, too. Total calorie burn for the evening was 691 lbs. This morning, the scale was down three of the six pounds I gained over the holiday weekend. Yay!

Just finished Day 6 Level 1. I thought about going to level 2 today but I'm still struggling with the pushups and anterior raises on 1. I find that if I do it 2+ days in a row, I can do more.

Nannweeks: Congrats on the clothes fitting better. It's so tangible!

Pfenixa: We'll be at level 2 soon enough. Oh, and weights can be overrated. Water bottles work and your muscles have to adjust for the shifting of the water inside the bottle... bonus!

Heather: That's a great cal burn. I keep thinking I need some kind of cardio burn to go with this.

Did day 6 of Level 1 again yesterday. I've decided to not worry about the handweights anyway since I'm still working up a sweat with what I'm already doing! lol. I'm also trying lengthening my workouts, so yesterday I ran a mile then walked a mile after I was finished with 30DS. Whew! Sweaty, but it felt good!

My plan is today is a rest day, tomorrow I'll do Level 1 again, then Sunday I think I'll try Level 2.
Heather, I think I'm gonna snag your great idea to do Level 2 followed by Level 1. Though that probably won't be for a few days, depending on how Sunday goes.

Day 6 of Level 1 completed this morning. I missed 2 days this week...so it felt good to get back on track. I decided to give Level 2 a shot after my Level 1 workout...WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only made it through the first circuit (barely). I plan on doing Level 2 followed by Level 1 tomorrow...hopefully I make it farther than I did today! (GREAT idea, BTW!!)
