Has your taste in food changed for the worst?

I used to eat mostly healthy food, but now I am finding that I really don't want to eat things like fresh fruit and veges, yoghurt etc. I have gotten somewhat fussy. I don't mind eating food that other people have prepared for me, but I frequently buy fruit and vegetables for myself then avoid eating them. WTF is wrong with me?!?

Did you ever have to force yourself to eat healthy? how long did it take until it wasn't a chore?

If you are a New Zealander like me, you will understand how delicious feijoas are. I used to eat a lot of them last year. This year, I keep buying them, then not wanting to eat them, and they end up rotting. Its a shame, because they are nearly out of season, and I will have to wait another year to taste them again.

I'm not a veg or much of a fruit person. I eat a lot of salad either with chicken or fish, mainly prawns. I think maybe you're bored & should look for alternatives. Get some low fat crisps, pieces of meat & add spices to them for variety for snacks. Try not to think of it as food more like fuel, as crazy as it sounds I found it helps

I go through phases. Sometimes all I want to do is drink a cup of heavy whipping cream, and not bother with any other food. Right now, I love eating my cauliflower fried rice that is a huge serving of cauliflower, carrots, green onion, broccoli slaw, and peas. Having a steak usually resets my appetite for veggies.

One of my favourite things right now is cous cous with lots of lemon juice and soy sauce. Must be sooo bad for me, lots of salt in it, plus lemon is acidic (bad for the teeth). I like making enchiladas then soaking them in lemon.

The main fruit I eat, is bananas in smoothies and tomatoes in my grilled sandwiches. I generally hate bananas and apples. I like fruit in crumbles, but the recipe we have isn't exactly healthy, I guess portion control comes into it.

Most of the food I eat is healthy, if its cooked. I just don't really like fresh veges the same raw, like I hate carrots and celery, unless they have been cooked or are in a soup.

I like berries and melons and stuff, but if there are other food options around, I will probably ignore them.

So you are buying a food that you think is delicious but not eating it?
Maybe not enough planning. Plan how you will use the food you buy. Make a meal plan before you shop. Prep meals. Pre-log food. Stop buying or eating on a whim. If you didn't eat it last several times you bought it then don't buy it again.
Maybe boredom. Try different foods or different ways to prepare it. I think pinterest.com is good for finding different ways to prepare a food. https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=Feijoas&rs=typed&0=Feijoas|typed
Maybe it is too much to finish at once if it is just you. Buy a smaller amount. Put some in the freezer for future use in recipes. Eat it when you can share it with someone.

I thought it was delicious in the past, but can't bring myself to eat it now. Maybe the thought of it being good for me turns me off.

    Good suggestions btw

Mmmm feijoa wine. Man I miss feijoas. (Lived over there a couple of times).

I go through phases like this. In fact I don't eat much fruit at all and can easily forgot to prepare veg at all. I just need to give myself a kick up the bum. Buying it ready to just throw in the microwave/oven/steamer helps because it's no extra hassle to add it to a meal and once it's on my plate I'll generally eat it.

The more I eat well, the more I want to eat well. When I let myself eat processed crap, I sort of redevelop a taste for it, and then I eat more of it, and I stop wanting my greens, and I spiral. I'm one of those people that basically has to cut out sugar and junk entirely to be happy and healthy, oops

I thought the title was "Has your taste in food changed for the wurst". Sadly this isn't a thread about tasty sausages.

I hear you. There's absolutely nothing that appeals to me anymore about having a salad or veggies. It's a problem.

I never really cared for veggies in the first place either. I like them roasted but fresh veggies are so expensive, I often end up buying frozen instead, and well... doesn't get more boring than frozen veggies. At least they don't go bad...
