Do the calories still count for corn if it doesn't digest?

Because when you eat corn, it seems to come out the other end unscathed.

I stopped eating corn for a while because it has so many calories, but to be honest, I quite enjoy the taste.

It's only the skin that doesn't digest I doubt there's that many calories in the skin. If there is many calories in the skin then hey yippee you'll be under your calorie allowance.

As said above, you actually do digest the corn and absorb all the available calories.
What you see later is just the "skin."

Just out of curiosity, even if everyone here said you could subtract calories for the undigested portions, would you seriously go digging in the potty and weigh the difference???

Noooo.... but I had a cup of corn a while back, and it was something crazy like 200 calories. So not worth it.

Yes the calories still count. Yes part of the corn is digested.
145 g of yellow sweet corn has 125 calories. It also has fiber, protein, calcium, manesium, folate, potasium, etc. I can't say if it is worth it for you but if you like how it tastes it certainly isn't bad for you to spend 125 calories on it.

That undigested skin is just as valuable as the digested nutrients, fibre keeps your digestive tract in top shape
