Student Trying to Build Healthy Habits

Hi everyone! I've just joined to help me stay focused on my goals. I'm trying to lose 30lbs - hopefully by the end of the year. I'm between 5'6" and 5'7" and sometime in the last few months I reached an all time high weight. I would like to get back down to what I consider my ideal weight, about 135lbs.

My experience in the past has been that once I make the conscious effort to build the habit of regularly exercising and eating healthy food, I really enjoy it (or at least take pride in it and enjoy the results). The trouble is that the past year has been pretty busy; I moved across the country, started a graduate program and went through a lot of transitions. Somewhere in the middle of that I let my healthy habits go, with inevitable results.

I'm trying to reframe the way I think about fitness. I'm busy, but not so busy that I don't have time for a few hobbies, and I'd like to get to the point where fitness is one of them. I'm happy to make virtual friends, especially anyone else who is making a conscious effort to be more positive about exercise and healthy eating. Best of luck everyone!
